Maybelline Disco Pink Color Sensational High Shine Lipstick

Maybelline Color Sensational High Shine Lipstick in Disco Pink is the third one I have gotten from the range (I will go through all of them...eventually). The bright blue-based pink lipstick contains a ton of silver micro-glitter, sheer-but-buildable texture, a super glossy sheen (that's promised by the brand but not present in all shades) and pleasant fruit scent.

Overall: It's a pretty shade that's perfect for party but potentially garish for daily use (thanks to the disco ball full of glitter). Among the brights,  Fruit Punch and Coral Lustre seems a lot more wearable, at least to me.

  1. What a lovely sparkly pink! Are you wearing lipgloss over it?

  2. Ooh so glittery! And...disco-y. haha. Still looks nice on you!

  3. I love the base color but micro glitters are a bit much for me. Maybe for night like you said and not daytime.

It's the lipstick by itself. (For all of my lip swatch pictures, only the product being reviewed is worn. If I have lip balm underneath or gloss on top/as a base, I would show it on a separate swatch image).

  5. Thanks for clarifying that Citrine - it's just the lipstick itself looks so glossy because of the glitters!

  7. NYC lip slider and L'Oreal jelly balm (both discontinued)are the ones I am using, smith minted rose also works rather well (applied thickly and wiped off after a few hours). My "secret" to swatch friendly lips is just waiting for a great-lips-day to take the pictures, really.
