Philosophy Kiss Me SPF 20 Very Emollient Lip Balm

Philosophy Kiss Me SPF 20 Very Emollient Lip Balm in Red was picked up on a whim (at Marshalls) because it seemed like a nice, sheer cherry/wine red that could get a lot of use of. The Marshall (it's also available at Nordstrom racks) retail (7 bucks) is actually a rip-off since it turned out to be a glorified tinted vaseline (mixed with a fair bit/enough to be unpleasant bit of oil).
So even it looks like jelly on the tube, it's mildly sticky, runny and kind of just sits on top of lips. The peppermint oil is supposed to make it light and refreshing but once it's combined with the nasty saccharine taste and the oiliness, it(the freshly applied gloss) just smells and feels like stale gum. As for moisturizing property, it does dampened lips a little bit but plain vaseline seems more effective
.Philosophy Kiss Me Lip Balm on the lips. On the arm, the color looks almost identical to Essence Berry Me but it's much sheerer once on the lips (not to mention with a much worse and shorter wear). I find the formula so runny that it rubs off very quickly, it kind of reminds me of Blistex moisture melt (each is nasty in its own way). Overall: Ewwww. However, Philosophy lip shine (polybutene based instead of vaseline-based) turned out to be pleasant though so you might want to check that out instead.

  1. It looks gorgeous in the lip swatch, actually - but I quite dislike Philosophy products after trying their shower gels. So drying, such a synthetic scent.

    1. It took me more than five try (and countless layering) to get a semi-decent pictures. By the time I got it, the tube is 1/3 gone and I could no longer re-shoot a in-focus picture of it...
