Clean & Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusion Reviving Cleanser

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusion Reviving Cleanser was picked up  half off (from 7 bucks) at Walgreens a few months ago, the product is still listed on Clean & Clear's site (and has a strangely and overwhelmingly positive feedback from "customers"). Anyway, I like pomegranate, trying out new cleanser and this looks like it would smell really yummy (not really) so I just grabbed it.

The sorbet-like (why do we need red coloring in a cleanser again?) cleanser has a half cream half gel (transparency wise) texture and an artificial fruity scent, both of which remind me of some cheap shampoo you find at dollar tree, more in a nostalgic (than off-putting) way though. The cleanser foams and cleanses OK, yielding a doable amount of foam and removes oil and most of the eye makeup (well, at least I get to confirm that Maybelline Color Tattoo holds up really well). It's not stripping or clogging but I feel that the thin film it leaves turns my face oily after washing. It could just be the Texans heat + humidity though.
There are some solid (I am assuming it's strawberry seed) floating buy with that concentration (1 or 2 per pump), I am not sure what purpose it serves, beside clogging up the drain.

Overall: It gets the basic job of cleansing down while looking and smelling fun. It's not refreshing in anyway (by getting rid of dead skin or giving a cooling effect) and the smell isn't remarkable, to me it's mediocre at best. I think 3 dollars was a fair price (7 is not) for its performance.

  1. It looks good, I'd probably buy one if I stepped by it (before reading what you said about).

    1. Well, it does have a food-like appeal and I suppose it's not horrible for the price (most cleansers in drugstore are mediocre anyway).
