Candy Apple is another Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter that I got suckered into, because I have a burning desire to use up any coupons I have, the moment I get them. Blogger hype aside, the colors are all quite unique and flattering not to mention the oh-so-photogenic tube.
The warm (with an apparent orange base) red has a sorbet-looking stick, sheer pigmentation (sheer enough that it turns cherry red on my lips), an oily shine that (just sits on top of my skin) is not at all moisturizing. The lipstick dries down to a semi-sticky stain after a while and last for 2 hours at the most.
Candy Apple, Cherry Tart, Jordanna Sweet Strawberry and Paul & Joe Orient
Revlon Candy Apple Colorburst Lip Butter - Lip line galore again...I know so many people say these are so nourishing and moisturizing but to me, it's just wet...
Overall: The color (too warm...or maybe not warm enough since I have no problem with orange-red), finish (too oily), pigmentation (too sheer) and lasting powder don't work on my skin type/tone but I think I will use it on top of the Just Bitten Kissable balm stain in Romantic (another warm red).
Candy Apple is the only lip butter I own and I love it! I found this one not as sheer as the other lip butters, but we only got 14 shades or something in the UK.
ReplyDeleteOrient looks nice though!
Out of the few (cough...I have more than just a few now)I have, Candy Apple is actually on the sheerer side, I found Sweet Tart (also in this sorbet formula) a little more opaque and creamy, without being just greasy on the lip, Raspberry Pie is also quite opaque and pigmented. But I guess everything have to do with the person's lip condition, mine just doesn't agree with mid-tone-leans-warm sorts of shades.
DeleteApple Candy is one of the prettiest lip butters in the collection.. I will have to check it out when I get to the UK!
ReplyDeleteOh wow I love this color on you! Maybe I should buy this one too, since I have about six of them already, so why not!...lol
