Garnier Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam

Garnier Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam is one of the three products from the Moisture Rescue released last summer. While I already like the green (I mean the color) packaging from the brand, I found the new minty/sea foam green tubes on Moisture Rescue looks even more refreshing and agreeable. Anyway,the oil-free foaming cleanser claims to cleanse, hydrate and detoxify skin all in one step.
Ingredients
Aqua/Water, Palmitic Acid, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, PEG-150 Distearate, Glycerin, DMDM Hydantoin, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Benzyl Salicylate, Linalool, Propylparaben, Parfum/Fragrance, Pyrus Malus/Apple Fruit Water, Disodium EDTA, Butylparaben, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Vitis Vinifera/Grape Fruit Extract, BHT, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Sodium Chloride.

First off, I would like to mention complain that for a product named "cleansing foam", this is not that foaming at all: Not only I need to squeeze out quite a bit to get some bubble going, the "foam" I get is more like a thin, pathetic film of watery bubble that burst within a few seconds. Of course, alongside the bubble, there is also a good deal of unchanged cream cleanser which does some cleansing to a certain extent.

On the face, the soapy-cucumber scented cleanser gives a slippery feel that's very typical of alkaline cleanser, or just bar soap (the natural PH of skin is mildly acidic so a good cleanser should be somewhere close to that)and after washing my face with it, it managed to do the impossible: Making my skin feel slight squeaky but not really that clean.Luckily, with a few more rinse, my face does feel clean and not too moisture-deprived so it's not completely useless.

Overall:It gets the basic job done but there really are so many other 5-dollar facial cleansers that would work better.

  2. Hm, this is what I've been using for a while but I'm not super thrilled about it either. Do you have any drugstore recommendations that are better? I have combination skin. D;

    I have heard some good reviews about the gel cream as well but I guess I will wait until I finish with my merlot and reviva labs cream (both of which I love a lot) before trying it.

    I actually like the L'Oreal Skin Genesis Deep Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser quite a bit but it might be too harsh for daily use (it's kind of an exfoliator). Other than that, I haven't tried any drugstore cleanser that I really like.
