La Roche-Posay Posthelios Hydrating After Sun Melt-In Gel

Late Novmember(OMG...where has my 2010 been?) seems to be an awfully awkward time to talk about any sun-care related products, it's also a wonderful time to repair the damage now all of your body parts are covered up and protected. ( that sounds a bit wrong) Anyhow...
La Roche-Posay Posthelios Hydrating After Sun Melt-In Gel - is a moisturizing balm designed for sun exposed and dried out skin. It looks like a balm when it's first squeezed out but it does have that light texture and absorbability of a gel when you use it in moderation.

Beside the main guys like water, shea butter, glycerin, mineral oil, you can also see ingredients such as niacinamide, dimethicone, and vitamin E which hints that the balm itself is rather nourishing, thick or emollient (whichever way you like to call it). In fact, it says on the package that it contains 10% lipid-replenishing agents (which is another way to say that it contains 10% fat/oil/wax-like substance). If you a have oily-but-dehydrated skin, you should probably stay away from this.

I found that the most efficient way to use the balm is (as indicated on the tube) massage in lightly right after shower or bath, so that the oils can seal in all the moisture remained on the skin. It did a great job moisturizing and getting rid of some dry patches/flaky skin I have but I need to be careful not using it too generously (i.e. Applying to much on areas of my face that's not even dry) or I would get breakout from it.

Overall: A great non-oily-yet-effective hand cream, allover moisturizer for people with dried out skin (not just for sun drenched one). It's rather unique for what it does and I think the huge tube can last me for quite a while.
