Peripera Tint Gelato in Fun Place Deep Red and Fresh Coral

It's the tale as old as time: I got a bunch of coupon at CVS and needed cash at the time (my old ritual was get cash back at drugstore then hop onto train to Chinatown for all those fresh produce and bakery) so I ...went home with more KBeauty lip tint.
Peripera has a bunch of lip tints and the Tint Gelato is newer one that surfaced in CVS just last year. I couldn't say no to the adorable packaging and the idea of gelato textured products so...here goes another pair of tint that I will complain about...It's actually not that bad.
Forgive me for the dated ("that's so 2017!") shade choice but somehow I was really into the whole brown red trend (yes they all ended up look bad on me). Fun Place Deep Red is a clear, vibrant red with a brown undertone.
On the lips it gets way brighter, a weird combo of gaudy magenta-but-with-touch-of-brown (neon blood clot?).

This particular sade is very Tiktok net idol circa 2017. Do you remember those short videos of extreme makeup transformations where women (forgotten net idol/抖音网红)slice off their noses and enlarged their eyes by 5x? The ladies looked gorgeously photogentic but the make up products won't survive without those 10 layers of filters.

If that's too abstract of a description...This shade looks cheap, very cheap.
The texture of the Tint is actually kind of interesting, it's less watery but a little silicone gel texture that's relatively easy to work with. Thanks to the mushier texture, it's less drying than conventional stain.
The lighter shade is actually more agreeable - Fresh Coral is a bright, creamy coral with a moussier texture that's more reminiscent of sorbet - It's light weight, feels a little fluffy on the mouth and (luckily) leaves a stain that's not as obnoxious.
This is Fresh Coral applied very lightly. I found it a little neon for my liking but it's still kind of cute. I might wear it outside.

Overall: Quality isn't bad (if you can get it around five bucks) and some shades are more wearable than others. Peripera does indeed (occasionally) make some well edited and wearable shades but these two didn't cut it for me.

    1. I have learned from my mistake and now I either do cash back from grocery store or I used the 40% coupon for food! Still better than having chase/BOA account that I have to keep a minimum balance for.
