Despite its generally popularity on Makeupalley, my view on Almay Color and Care Liquid Lip Balm remains lukewarm. Yes it does exactly what it promises to do:Giving a light tint and a moisturizing and comfortable wear.
The formula just reminds me of a watered down take on (old square tubed) Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss. I mean, even the pigment in these separates like my older (a back up opened last spring) Revlon. Almay is nice but I want the old Super Lustrous back. Anyway, I still like to get an item or two during sale since they inherited a fair bit of pretty shades and/or formulation from Revlon.
Apricot Pucker is a juicy orange coral, in my mind I take it as an analog for Super Lustous Gloss in Coral Reef, instead of a creamy base, Apricot Pucker looks juicier and clearer as the formula contains more watery fillers (or mousturizing base if you the glass-half-full kind of person) like polybutene and petrolatum of the sorts.
The watery formula of Almay Color and Care Liquid balm is very comfortable and quenching but color pay off and lasting power is lowered accordingly. After several redips, I finally get enough colors (now that it really reminds me of Coral Reef!) and the layer of product is able to fill my lip lines away. The color is rather wearable and flattering (just like most Revloncoral/orange I own).
I do like it quite a bit (even with all the redipping) I suppose that I should just appreciate it for what it is (and buy some backups of the Super Lustrous).
That's such a pretty color on you!
ReplyDeleteYup, orange coral is my comfort blanket...Now I just need to remember to use it.
