NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder in Naturally Beige

Continuing on with my CVS clearance haul reviews- NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Face Powder is something I expect to be wiped out from the shelf pretty soon (if they are not out already), since it has already gotten a pretty good reputation at its regular retail (at most 3 bucks). Basically, it's a matte, firmly-pressed translucent powder with an extremely fine texture. While the shade doesn't offer much coverage, it does a wonderful job setting cream base products like concealer and make them much more long-lasting.
For three dollars (at most), you get a sizable compact with sizable mirror, a substantial glossy black compact that's a little prone to scratching (Well, the Bobbi Brown compact is scratch-prone and quite flimsy). There is no proper hinge or snap closure but a replacement would be painless.

  1. I've seen this around and did not think much of it, now I;m curious... Great pics btw!

  2. That second photo is really neat!! :D
Have a wonderful new year!! ^-^

  3. Hell Note for Beauty:
Thanks! I remember that you are the few who comliment on my pictures instead of going "Hey great camera!". That means a lot to me.

Thanks! (I think I got the camera just for the aperture priority/adjust background blur mode. Which is what it's on all time). Have a wonderful new year to you as well!

  4. Oh hey, I took pictures of mine as well! Thanks for getting the Translucent for me - that's the only "colored" powder I wear ^.^ I tested it and the texture is super fine and awesome! Can't believe it's only 3 bucks. May be I should move home and start stalking the US drugstores now that they are putting out nice stuff again ^.^
