Burt's Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser with Royal Jelly

Burt's Bees's skincare range has grown quite a bit since its initial launch (back in 2006?), while I am a big fan of the lip balm and cuticle creme, I have never really liked their facial skincare products (except for the lavender facial mist, which they promptly discontinued...leaving only the carrot one that smelled like Play-doh) that's until now...
Burt's Bees Radiance Facial Cleanser ($10)  is a non-foaming cleanser that's 99.5% natural and enriched with royal jelly. The cleanser has a very smooth, lotion-like texture that spreads out and glides easily, gently (It doesn't irritate areas around eyes or healing wound...from scab-picking) while removing every bit of dirt, oil and makeup. It's so effective and gentle that it wipes out long-wearing products like Urban Decay 24/7 jumbo pencil (without any rubbing or redness) while leaving skin perfectly clean without any tightness or residue. I love almost everything about it, except for the extremely strong/overpowering fragrance (It took me a whole month to learn to kind of ignore it).

Ingredient list of the cleanser, note that the fragrance is pretty ahead of the list (it comes before royal jelly), which explains why the scent was so strong.

  1. Sounds like a great cleanser! I need to see if they sell it in Japan.

  2. Ah, no luck. They're just introducing this skin care line, but the facial cleanser is not included right now.

Haha, I think I could just survive on Japanese cleansers because a lot of them foam so well for so cheap (I think there is a Biore one with slightly acidic PH that foams and smells like a dream). Anyway, I am more of a local shopper since I prefer paying for the product itself instead of shipping/mark-up.

  4. Sounds good except for the fragrance being high on the list. I have sensitive skin, and things with strong fragrance break me out.

  6. Oooooh....I dunno about the overpowering fragrance bit. That is almost always impossible for me to ignore.
