Laura Mercier Lip Stain in Mulberry

Anyway, I frankly don't get why would they market it as a lip stain as it's nothing like the stains I normally use, which are usually bright, sheer and adhere well on the lips (God forbid it's called " Lip stain"!) .First, the texture of the Laura Mercier lip stain is very much like a creamy lipstick that melts as soon as a brush/finger tips touches it. I know there are several high-end lipsticks are creamy and malleable enough that a tiny bit spread on the entire lips is sufficient for a nice tint. Well, I ensure you, this is not YSL...

In fact, the creamy consistency reminds me of Wet n Wild Silk Finish lipstick called dark wine... (Nothing against you Laura, as Wet n Wild makes some great lip products once you forgive the waxy scent...But come on, those lipstick are a dollar a piece at regular retail price!)The second awkward thing about this "stain" is its color. Is it just me but...who in the world would want to stain their lips into brownish burgundy (aka the color of liver) ? I guess my somewhat sickly purple-toned lips could benefit a bit from the warmth but when I do smear it allover my lips...it just looks like soy sauce stain (the thing is that soy sauce would have a better staining power that this, which slide off right away).

So I guess Laura Mercier lip stain is the epic fail? Well, not entirely...While it offers no bright color, sheer finish or staying power...If you look at it as a lipstick. It is smooth, rich in color and gives a soft and smooth finish. (It's still a yucky color for me though...)Laura Mercier Lip stain with a layer of Milani Glitzy Glamour lip gloss in In Vogue...Yuck?

Overall it's still a decent lipstick (for grown-ups) for the price (3 dollars something along with a sharpener and shipping cost included, courtesy of this blog post . I would have blogged about this deal earlier if I actually like this product...) I find it very difficult to love it...

By the way, I just found out that a site similar to the one I fussed about earlier has been stealing my blog content for the past few months. It's not just taking pictures, or my text...In fact, that @$$hole (I couldn't find a name to address that person therefore I will just go with what I find most fitting. Excuse my language. ) is copying down the entire source codes into the site: My reviews, my spy cam trips my bandwidth etc... all into her site helping her to make profit through ads...

In case you can't tell, I was (still am) extremely furious so it might take a little while for me to calm down doing all those cleanup and reporting plagiarism through Google (If it happens to you, don't let it slip. You can modified/relocate your pictures and report infringing party to major search engine so they will not get indexed at all...) I think I am alright at the moment, just need to vent a little bit. Yeah, a bit...

  1. Actually, I like that color on you...

I had a Laura Mercier lip stain in Shy Pink but you could barely see the color on my lips so I don't use it anymore. I might go check out that Mulberry though. :)

I think those Wet n Wild lipstick will give you very similar result, if you can tolerate the waxy scent.

    Hell Notes for Beauty:
I think the person just steal from people she assume who don't have that much traffic/watch over (check ) their blog and the net often enough...There are several blogs she steals it from, most with offical release pictures (It takes a lot of effort taking those pictures so I was furious that someone could be shameless enought to just take it away like that)...

For most of other stolen blog posts, it takes an paragraph then give the link...For my blog, that @$$hole takes the entire posts with pictures etc. then at the end, only leave a "discovered 2 weeks ago at Citrine's blog" at the end of the post (which is not even linking to my site). I also realized that she takes all the newest post right after it was posts so Google has crawl it yet...

The end result, if I search certain key words, I will see my pictures...at her site...

I think you can still wait for a few years before try the brand, as it gives me a aged, auntie vibe, even more so that Revlon.
