Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in VIP Appeal

Essence seems to be a brand for the pre-teen with their youthful/childish design and dirt cheap prices. Anyway, there are quite a few interesting cream nail polish shades in the brand and I picked up one of them when I had an Ulta coupon hanging around.
Essence Colour & Go nail color in VIP Appeal is a semi sheer salmon pink (I usually call peachy pink with more pink coral and warmer ones peach, but I guess it all depends on your own frame of reference.) The polish is a tad runny but not in a watery or thin way. The loose texture, combined with the bigger-than-average applicator, just makes it easy to apply. I only used 2 coats for this picture so there is still a bit of visible nail line here. I bought the Essence polish along with Orly Pixi Stix and I would say the two shades are quite similar, Orly Pixi Stix just has a creamier (reads: can get gooey with my shaky hand)and a warmer tone that looks very unflattering against my skin. (I will swatch it, for the Nth time if it comes out alright...)

Overall: Pretty darn good for a dollar.

  1. The shade is super pretty!!!! I want one now! I love matte colored polish recently, I own a couple but gave it away because I had to apply 4 coats to cover my nails!

  2. That pinky color is so cute on you. I love it. I'm still on the hunt for a pink polish. This one is very nice.

Keep in mind this color is a tad bright (coral pink has a tendency to look a bit neon on me), if you want a neautral to a bit cool pink, China Glaze In Vogue is quite pretty (I have like 2 pinks polish grand total...)
