The tiny 4.9 g (let's stick to S.I. unit here) jar of Jelly Balm retails for 8-9 dollars a piece but it can be spotted during BOGO sale. I wasn't going to get two from the same line without knowing how much I would like it...so I just settled for a mini sale and got it for 6-7 dollars instead.
Here is Plush, a somewhat bright pink,I pick the pink because it was the only jar that doesn't have the air bubble inside the sticker label. (Air bubbles get on my nerve.)
My first impression is that this stuff smells really yummy, it has a baked sweet scent but it's not so strong/sweet that it would set me off.
The texture of the balm is very soft that you can poke a hole on it quite easily and it looks like something that can be store (and squish out) from a lip gloss squidgy tube. One it goes on, it's a semi transparent gloss that is sheer and has a slight jelly finish while another part of it sinks in my lips.
I would say the texture is quite similar to the $3 NYC lip slider balm only this one is more transparent and it sink in slightly more, they both moisturize well that my lips feel soft even after I wipe them off.
On the lips, I think it does look quite similar to NYC and the color is slightly cool. I have a love hate relationship with cool toned makeup...While some cool toned pink blush add nice transparency to my face and fuchsia and mauve lip colors rocks against my skin...
Other cool colored products, like true mid tone blue nail color, blue/purple lip gloss make my skin ashy and make me look dead...I am afraid this cool baby pink belongs to the second category ...
I just took the picture away from the window and the warming effect of sunlight and see how the cool tone pink make me look dead?

I don't know why but I really like the texture of these. I have 3 now...but they all look more or less the same. I don't know if you have more than one, but I've noticed that Plush has the best texture out of all 3, at least for me.
ReplyDeleteHi Smiley13tree
ReplyDeleteI only have plush (the air bubbles inside the sticker are ticking me off)and I don't think I want more, it's not like they are that cheap anyway... (I might be done with l'oreal actually) since I am really getting a better deal buying MAC instead...
I do like this, but not enough to get another one...
