I think it's just an alternate gimmicky name for BB Cream ( glorified tinted moisturizer). I think in the height of western BB Cream popularity, Chanel released a CC cream (complexion complet?) and other brand just followed. I thought it's pretty silly.
yeah, sounds like they don't have anything really unique and new (in terms of technology) to release so they do stuff like cc creams. I traveled to US on my last vacation and I was like crazy buying things, so many promises, thought that I was going to be wonder woman. But the reality that I saw when I came back to my country and started to use everything was: they do not do what they promise to do. Most of them are the same old stuff just with a different name, color or presentation but the final results are just the same. Never going to be fooled like that again. :) I can count on one hand the ones that really were that fantastic.
but I have to agree that in terms of marketing US professionals really know how to find our insecurities and dreams and use it to sell stuff to us. It's almost impossible to resist. Thanks good my country is carefull about marketing otherwise I'd be poor.
Really? To me it just seems like those companies assume that the customers are stupid, all they think is that "Oh, as long as we slap on the name BB Cream people would go crazy for them!" (Covergirl literally just renamed their tinted moisturizer into BB cream while the ingredients remains 100% the same)...To me it's just off-putting.
They fail to realize that Asian BB cream didn't become popular just because of the catchy name (well it helped), it supposed to offer sun protection/skincare/full yet natural coverage. I am a little surprised that brands like those are still in business.
Covergirl isn't in Brazil so I'm not losing anything. lol Most people here shop for the asian one's, there are lots of sellers but they are independent sellers not stores or drugstores. In our market there are maybelline, loreal and dior ones. They work pretty good, except for the fact that the loreal fair color is too yellow.
what is the cc cream for?

DeleteLOL @citrine! ^^^^
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that CC is just going too far. We get it, brands want to stand out and be unique, but we're not stupid...
I'm not a big Almay fan, anyway :)
