Daily Aroma Yuzu UV Cream

I am not sure if I have mentioned it but I love almost everything citrus - From the plump glossy fruits, uplifting fragrance and the happy fruity shades of green, orange and yellow (and everything in between). To my delight, Yuzu has gotten quite popular these few years and I see many yuzu themed beauty products.

During my last visit to Tokyo half a year ago (feels like ages) - I noticed several Yuzu themed body care, from lip cream to hand lotion l, all have that uplifting smell of yuzu peel. I am always looking for the next best physical sunscreen (especially after Ishizawa lab got rid of the natural orange fragrance) so picking this up was a no brainer.
The Daily Aroma Yuzu UV Cream is a gentle physical sunscreen scented by the natural essential oil of Japanese yuzu. Since it's more of a specialty brand, it's a little more expensive (around $18-20) for 40g of products.
It's 7-free. Free from UV absorber, synthetic fragrance, paraben, silicone, ethanol, mineral oil and petroleum derived surfectant...
Ingredient:Hmmm...I can only understand titanium dioxide...Yuzu fruit oil, shea butter, aloe vera juice, peach leaves essence, butylene glycol. I have wore it several time and it has never caused any reaction (even with the citrus oil).
My first impression is, of course, the yuzu scent. It's so natural that putting it on feels liking opening a large jar of honey yuzu tea...If you don't like fragrance, rest assured as it lasts a grand total of 2 seconds. Now I remember why I didn't pick up the hand cream.

The sunscreen cream looks dense - doesn't form a pool as it's squeezed out of the tube. On the skin, it's actually quite easy to spread with zero pilling. On a dry day it actually feels a little hydrating despites its matte finish. Although it has a bit of white cast (as with most physical sunscreen that works) - It blends away seamlessly as long as you are not too tan. On a cooler day, the protective film stays intact for a full day but now that it's warmer (I am also breathing into a mask for a whole day), it gets a little tacky by the end of day.

While the label say it can be removed with just soap and water. I use a cleansing balm/oil because soap is too stripping.  I can't tell how hard core effective it is but it's perfectly good for the cooler half of the year.

    1. I gave up on Korean brands skincare, the sunscreens I have tried are kind of terrible...I mean purito and make prem might be wonderful but I am not gonna risk my lunch money(the two you mentioned have many ravings on reddit...which might or might not be organic consider the sheer amount of shills there).

  4. I've given up on BB creams too. I tried so many and none of them worked. It's either I can't find exact shade match and I have to mix shades (yep Nars, Chanel and Laura Mercier I was in between shades n needed to mix 2, like as if I want to mix just for a BB), or it was just too light coverage, or it was too thick n sticky like it's invisible grease, or that I reacted to the SPF- I already wear SPF 50 so the extra spf is really irritating...or all of the above. I haven't tried Korean BB creams except for that Missha one years ago and that was a hot stinkin mess too. Instead I'm just using my normal Lancome or EL Double Wear Tawny and using a thin layer as BB cream.
