Sometime around early last year, I was restocking food at New Kam Man (of course I always browse their second floor), I saw this Hadalabo serum and liked how it felt on my hand. For 25 dollars, it wasn't too expensive either so I got it to try out.
The Gokujyun Alpha line is supposed to be targeting aging skins but unlike its western counterpart, it's lacks any specific strong actives. Instead, it's has a slightly richer formula that's suitable for very thirsty skin, something associated with aging. For months after my purchase, I was not able to use it as it was too icky for summer (it has been humid for a great part of large year). When winter hit, it became a staple.
This serum is rich and a little tacky it reminds me of snail mucus (and it doesn't leave white drool trail...for those of you who played with snails). On days that's dry and below freezing, I use two pumps allover my face and sometime follow with cream (that's not needed). Even as my sole moisturizer, it keeps my skin supple and quenched and stops it from getting tight and flakey. On cold but not icepocalypse (right around freezing) days I just use tiny drops around my eyes, it's perfect at getting rid of dry lines. The small bottle is running out quickly but it's still a reasonable buy since I can ditch face cream or oil while using it.
I like it a lot and will probably get another bottle (to use as eye gel) when it's restocked in store.
I went and bought Chanel no.5 perfume 50ml $165aud. Splurge of the week. No more makeup/skincare purchases for this week lolz. I actually like no.5, it is grandma smelling but nice grandma smelling. Been wanting to get it for ages, the Chanel SA hate my guts because I always to to the counter and spray it. I'm more into perfume these days, but of course I'm snobby I only like high end like Lancome, Chanel, Dior etc. Celebrity perfumes smell very cheap n synthetic. My next perfume wishlist is Lancome Flowers of Happiness. Lancome make amazing perfumes. Dior and Chanel are nice but way overpriced. Lolz and get this, the new Estee Lauder Pure Color Desire Excess lipsticks came out. It's only 3.1g and cost whopping $60aud. Oh my goodness who they think they are?! Lancome/Dior/Chanel cost $53-54. I'm so over lipsticks these days, I will buy an odd high end lipstick here and there but I'm over chasing the rat race. Even my Drugstore Revlon/Maybelline/Loreal lippies I'm happy with.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten too many lipsticks (OK just two Lunasol in the last three months) but I always loved hoarding eyeshadow palette (mostly drugstore). I have never been into fragrance because I work in lab and am already smelling all the reagents (plus bodily fluid ewww). The only one I like is from shiro, they are singular but not boring, plus never irritate my nose.
DeleteAnother question, have you ever tried that P50 biologists lotion before? I still don't get what it is and why it so popular. I'm happy with Drunk Elephant C Firma serum and my other skincare stuff. All I regret in my younger years was not wearing sunscreen and using way too harsh cleansers which contributed to my rosacea and sun damage hyperpigmentation.
ReplyDeleteThe Lancome vitamin c serum arrived here in Australia, $115 AUD not bad, in line with Drunk Elephant. Actually when I finish my Drunk Elephant I'm going to try the Lancome one. If I don't like it I'll just switch back to Drunk Elephant.
DeleteI think I heard about biologuque recherche but only about how pricey it is. I love drunk Elephant so much I doubt I will switch any time soon. Now the days are getting longer i have been wearing sunscreen everyday and I can see my skin getting clearer just from sunscreen alone!
