Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Hot Pink

Oh,no! Revlon,it's you again! Well...As hard as I try to stay away from the brand bring some variety on this blog,it's just too hard to resist(from swatching) when there is a sample available: The tiny pouch of the newly released gloss is from a Target promotional giveaway, where you exchange your personal information with a (Sonia Kashuk makeup) bag full of little beauty samples.

Since there is not enough lip gloss to gunk up(I generally like to load it up), cover all the lip lines and create a smooth finish, I will just have to smooth it manually by stretching my lips/smiling :)

Arm swatch of Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Hot Pink...Now I need to come up with a mini review from the quarter milliliter (or less?) of product...Anyway, the Colorburst gloss seems to be fragrance free and has a somewhat tacky texture, more so than both the ColorStay Mineral Lip Glaze and Super Lustrous gloss. The pigmentation for Hot Pink, supposedly the same shade that Jessica Alba is wearing in the display poster, is decent but not great (again, both ColorStay and Super Lustrous perform better)that the fuchsia turns out to be not as vibrant as it looks in the tube/on the poster.

While the gloss isn't as pigmented as the title suggests (Colorburst? What color burst?),the silver shimmers have no problem making their way through so the sheer hot pink ends up looking like a medium intensity blue pink due to the strong silver cast over it.

Overall:The colorburst (more like shimmerburst or glitterbomb) gloss actually turns out to be a lot more wearable than what I expected. While I prefer the Super Lustrous line as it's creamier and more comfortable to wear for the shimmer-lovers out there, these Colorburst glosses are definitely fun to play with (not to mention shimmer looks great on a sunny day).

P.S. Having been through three years of abuse, my Anna Sui lip brush finally broke apart after swatching this gloss.Maybe I will try Paul & Joe this time (I just like the flat shape of lip brushes from Japanese brands)...
