For summer 2010 Day Dreamer Collection, Revlon has introduced five new Super Lustrous lip gloss into the line up (and got rid of three of the old ones, if I remember it correctly) Coral Reef is one of them. It surprised me a little bit that I haven't include Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss in my previous Top 10 favorite lip gloss post( guess it's time for an update!). I got my first tube back in early 2006 (the shade was called Wild Orchid) and has run through at least four tubes for the past four years (that's a lot consider the flooding amount of my lip gloss collection).
Anyway, for all the shades I have tried, these glosses are fairly pigmented (but not too much that it becomes unwearable), have a nice, non sticky texture and give a plump and watery but not too glossy finish.Coral Reef is just like all the other Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss I have tried, except it's quite different/lot prettier than the old ones: The bright, summery orange-coral just looks so fresh and youthful (and I usually like to call Revlon a auntie-brand as it contains so many toned down neutral and deep reds of the sort) and I don't see the point buying MAC lip glass (well, I got one anyway for the packaging anyway, shame on me = =...) when you can get the same, if not better, pigmentation and texture and probably better overall effect for 1/2 to 1/4 of the price.
Overall: Revlon is the bomb (And watch out for more bombing) .

I love the lipglosses from this revlon collection, I have 3.. the lilac, the pink and peach..didn't get this one, I never saw it in stock :(
I really want the Lilac Pastelle from the Spring/Summer collection, but I can't find it anywhere! It's usually sold out, with Firecracker and Pink Pop left behind.
ReplyDeleteI want one of these.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried this, thanks for the comparison with Mac's Lipglass, I've been meaning to purchase them but the stickiness stopped me, I have to take a look at this! Thanks
ReplyDeleteI have ALL of the lipglosses from Revlon's Daydreamer collection. And I LOVE every single one. They are so wearable, even the lilac one and the bright red.
ReplyDeleteStock up, people!! Esp when it's BOGO time.
I will have to try this after reading your post - I have always usually used MAC but if the quality of these is good it is worth a try! thanks for the information on the product.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Revlon is the bomb. I love this line of lipgloss as well, I have one in Nude Lustre and it has become a staple to me. Hmm I need to check out Revlon now and see if this shade is available in my country. Looks like a nice gloss for summer :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Revlon glosses but you're making me want to now. The color looks beautiful and summery and the formula sounds nice too.
ReplyDeleteThat's GORGEOUS!! Now I wanna try it too, haha.
ReplyDeleteI got the sheer red one 75% off. i LIKE THIS COLOR HOWEVER.
ReplyDeleteJustine:
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty good deal for you guys...Let me see what you have gotten...
Yuki:
Don't worry, from what I have seen, these five new shades are already added to the permanent display so you bound to find one. On the bright side, lilac would look even better during fall, when people's skin get a bit paler.
P.S. I actually like Pink Pop a lot as well...it's bright but still wearable.
Asami:
You can always wait for the sale...for what I have seen, beside the sheer red one fire cracker (warm red looks funny on me) the other four are all worth getting. Especially the lilac/pink/coral ones.
K.Lo:
I already have four, maybe I shoud get the nude peach one as well...
Ashley Nicole:
I am not a pro for MAC lip glosses though, I only chip in for limited edtion packaging or wacky colors. At least this coral one has a much nicer texture compared to the coral gloss from MAC liberty of London collection.
Fuz:
Go ahead and buy it, it's like 8 bucks for the most and always goes on sale...
Hell Notes for Beauty:
I think you are talking about cherries in the glow, I like that color but it's not as special compared to other sheer red glosses I have. Anyway, I did picked up Raspberry Smash after seeing your comments, I love love love that color!
