Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick Purty Persimmon

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick has been around since 2010 - I didn't find any shade interesting until earlier this year, when the brand introduced several brights in the range. Of course, I picked up the reddish orange one called Purty Persimmon. In terms of the yellow-red balance, Purty Persimmon is a tad redder than shades like Revlon Siren and Milani Mandarina (the two are really similar so I only swatched one) and a little more orange compared to shades like Revlon Coral and Sula Awake Till Sunrise. Purty Persimmon swatched alongside Milani Mandarina , Wet n Wild Salsa Lessons and Sula Awake Till Sunrise - You can see that it doesn't have that cherry undertone that I dread (love cherry red by itself, just hate it in orange-red lipsticks since it turns them punchy pink). ( Click Here for part one) Despite being a lipstick snob, Canmake lippies occupy a special place in my heart. Their shades selection, which never looked cheap to start with, has evolved into something rather expensive-looking nowadays. I always ended up ignoring Canmake while visiting Japan (as I told myself there were too many pretty things, I couldn't simply buy "all teh toys"). As soon as I came back home, I kicked myself for not getting those cream blush and balm rouge at $6-7 bucks. Even with markup, they still worth every penny and actually outperform most mid-range highend options from Sephora. Here are the newer shades from the brands, released within the last two or three years. 13 Milky Alyssum is a slightly milky (the smooth creamy dulce de leche way, not the chalky white base kind of milky) rosy that belongs to the innocent my lips but better category. When I first used it, I couldn't help but notice the formula has a slight improvement:

Amika Triple Rx Shampoo and Conditioner

Amika is a salon brand that's also available at Sephora, I remember trying some samples and didn't hate it (I use sephora samples, be it skincare minis or pouches of shampoo, for travels so I always associate them with...Japan haha). When I saw the shampoo on clearance at Marshalls, it seemed harmless to try them out. The Triple Rx Shampoo is a slip, nourishing runny oil gel with sea buckhorn berry that repairs, restores and revitalizes dry and damaged hair. I have very fine hair that tend to split easily (I yank them trying to comb through) so this formula seems like my cup of tea. Anyway, the shampoo has a nutty fruit smell, somewhat natural and non-offensive. I loved using it as it gives a smooth foam and rinses off leaving my hair silky and easy to comb through (not in a silicone sort of way though). Anyway, I don't think my hair agrees with it 100% as it also give me some little bumps, scalp acnes as I call them, when I was using it daily. The little bumps went away
