L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow - Liquid Diamond, Bottomless Java, Smoldering Plum, Amber Rush and Golden Emerald

One of the joys of living close to a Rite Aid is their legitimate sale. Yeah, most promotion are lame like the buy one get one 50% off (which is essentially 25% off, when you get two) but once in a while Revlon, L'Oréal and Wet n Wild will be 40% off, that's when I start hoarding the items I don't normally buy.

During the last sale, I picked up a few L'Oreal infallible eyeshadows. It's hard to say no to these wonderfully complex damped pigment (at less than 5 dollars a piece!)

I reviewed these (one at a time, oyyy...) so no need to add more. These are silky and pigmented but don't last well on me without a primer (I lived in an extremely humid place). But I think now I moved up here, I can totally get away with wearing them alone.
Smodering Plum - Deep rich wine with matching colored micro-sparkle. Texture is rich in swipe but not refined (like some of their metallic shades) enough to be used as an ultra fine liner.

Liquid Diamond - Silver gray lilac that show up much more purple once on my skin (normally color like this can get really muddy and gray on me). I love using it sheerly as an allover wash or replace a shade in an Japanese palette (if I want something more vibrant on a particular day).

Amber Rush - an intensely metallic one. This rose gold pulls a little more coppery than others(rose gold in my stash). I love it as an lid wash and sometime substitute it for the lid shade in Lunasol Vivid Clear Eyes Pink Beige Collection (to be reviewed) if I want something more intense.

Golden Emerald - Shimmering Ivy with gold and green micro-sparkle the formula is a tad thinner than smoldering plum so it probably doesn't work as fine liner (by itself) either. I might press it on top of pencil liner if I have the time and want to put up the effort.

Bottomless Java - Rich and smooth yellow brown with finer shimmer partices. I didn't wear it on my eyes yet.

Next up, all the limited editions shades I missed out (because of the high price). I even scored two shades from Europe but I don't know how long it's going to take to get here

  1. Hmm...I don't have Smoldering Plum and Bottomless Java. Was thinking about picking them up but I'd be using them only as liners. How do you like them?

    1. They are liner-shades for me as well but they are not creamy enough to work well in a think line though. If you are into thicker cat flick those should work too...I feel the two are great for people with large lid space so they can pat and pat.

  2. I have the Liquid Diamond and I love it! You know I love my Infallibles. To be honest, they are so much easier to work with than Chanel Illusion D'ombres, for example!
Btw, Continuous Cocoa is great for filling in brows if you have dark hair. :)

    1. Lol, I don't even want to think about using that shade on my brow (instant crayon shin-chan). It's weird that I can get away with using Maybelline vintage plum(that patchy matte/creamy gray-purple) on my brows though, somehow the purple all got absorbed when sheered out...
