Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Candy Coral

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush is an innovative/gimmicky product Maybelline released this year to replace their dream mousse blush. The new blush, housed in a small and dainty compact, has a texture that I have never seen on a beauty product before. It's feels like a slight melt-y sponge (or the love child of marshmallow and some silicone) on the finger and goes on like...a typical slippery cone-rich product.
The shade I got, Candy Coral is an orange coral (might look a bit reddish since my camera is acting funny) with loads of tiny silver shimmer. Instead of a frosty finish, the shimmers just add a subtle glow along with the slight orange flush it gives so you don't have to worry about it looking oily or enhancing pores. Compared to other cream blush, Maybelline Dream Bouncy is sheer but (at least for this shade)  provides enough tint to be noticeable on the face and it didn't slip off right away.
Canmake Sweet Orange (one swipe only), Mayeblline Dream Bouncy Candy Coral (with three re-dips) and Milani Baked Blush in Corallina (three re-dips because the color won't come off my finger).  While all three are shimmery, the sparkle from Canmake are very fine that they are not noticeable on face, the silver shimmer from Maybelline is the most apparent one and the Milani's shimmers are more like small micro-glitters.

Overall: If you are looking for a sheer warm flush only, Maybelline Dream Bouncy will do the job (although the shade doesn't build up that much with layering). Admittedly, I like it mainly because the blush's surface is fun to poke, not necessary for how it looks. For a product I actually wear, I prefer Canmake Cream Cheek in No.10 Sweet Orange (which will take forever for me to review, I am just slow at blushes) , which is a more pigmented, smoother and less slippery version of Maybelline Candy Coral.

    1. Don't poke too hard since this doesn't bounce back.

  5. I bought one and I was disappointed in the pigmentation, but I totally agree about them being such a fun texture. It's like those squishy bouncy balls.

    1. You might want to get the red one called Hot Tamale (the pigmentation for this is alright as well) since I have heard that the lighter shades don't show up as well.

    1. Yeah, the airy touch is quite a novelty (the blush itself doesn't feel too different from their dream mousse product though).
