Being a sister of Canmake (both under IDA Laboratory) Cezanne is now getting lots of attention for their color makeup Anyway, a few years ago the brand was more known for their foundation and UV powder. This was purchased back in fall 2016, and now only available from Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Cezanne BB neri is a thick balm type foundation that's becoming more popular nowadays. The BB neri has a cream to powder finish, SPF 31 and PA ++ (with physical filters). I bought it to set my sunscreen and cover up some sunspots.
The rounded Square compact is very solid, doesn't look cheap despite its affordable price(I paid around $10 shipped).
On top of the divider there is a very dense sponge that's very handy.
Mirror is good sized and the divider has little protruding dots so the sponge has breathing space. On the bottom, there is a big pan of cream foundation that you can either pad on with sponge or use a very dense brush.
There are only two shades available I went with 01 Light Ochre (since Cezanne powder usually runs very dark), a brightening yellow beige. When used with sponge or dense foundation brush, it gives a fairly good coverage that lasts the whole day, even when I covered my face with masks (so when I don't need it). However, I didn't like that it looks a little cakey so I ended up using it as a spot concealer for zits.
It's not pefect but for $10 it's pretty darn amazing.
Thanks to your tip, I bought a Cezanne UV silk powder refill and put it in my Paul & Joe pressed powder case. It's a perfect fit and more importantly, I really like the powder. (For some reason, I thought it was made by Canmake for some time). I do wish the color was a bit lighter but it's a great powder and I often reach for it. I will look out for some other powder stuff including this one (using it as concealer sounds good!).
ReplyDeleteTheir lipstick (sheer one that looks like the old shu uemura) are amazing too, actually it's around the same quality as well...minus the garish tone Shu does nowadays.
DeleteTheir hottest release now is their single eyeshadow (400 yens a piece but it's duping some addiction shades).
Oooh I was tempted by their SPF powder a while back but honestly I buy so much powder probably never gonna use it up
ReplyDeleteThe SPF powder is good one (more of a sunscreen enhancer than makeup to me) because the texture is fine and near invisible...just makes your skin a little more even.
DeleteLolz I use powder foundation as a setting powder. Lolz that's how bad my skin is. Need a liquid foundation then powder foundation. I don't like loose powder or sheer blot powder anymore...I find it "eats" my foundation away. Also last summer when it was so hot, I tried using just powder foundation and omg it looked bad. As soon as my face starts to sweat, it immediately balls up.
