Real Techniques Blush Brush - Synthetic Dome Skunk

Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman Blush Brush was a  purchase from last fall (yeah...I take my time when it comes to reviewing products). The brush has gotten a ton of good review for its great performance and relatively low price (8.89 dollars at ULTA).  Actually, I only paid 5 bucks for it (and a filler item) because while I was checking out,  the sale associate declared my perfectly up-to-date 3.5 bucks off coupon unusable...Then she swiftly exchanged it for a 5-dollar off one that I didn't know existed....

It was a great Friday when it happened, except some @$$ hole blew my bike tire in the very same evening.

Back to the brush - it comes with sleek pink barrel and a rubber stands, it feels nicely weight but not a burden to hold. The tip looks like a small egg (still big for a cheek brush) and is made of black and white bristle (both are synthetic) that's firm, resilient and very directional, when you want the color deposit in a specific area.At first (especially if your face is a little picked over), the brush is a little scratchy and pokey but it either got better with washes or my face got used to it.

The brush can be used with any cheek products (haven't tried it with cream yet just because I want prefer my finger tip) but it works best with very bright and pigmented blushes (like deep red or bright orange), at it just blend them down to the most weightless and natural-looking flush. Overall: Totally worth the hype.
To end the post, here are some ancient (from a few months ago?) spy cam picture with some of the newer Real Techniques brushes: Powder, foundation, expert face brush and a set.
The blush brush, stippling brush and s setting brush (which just looks like mini blush brush).

  1. I have the face brush set from them and I really like it overall - I'm in the market for a new blush brush and I'm hesitating between this and bdellium tools.

    1. I haven't tried the bdellium one but I do like the lime green handle. Anyway, I missed out a chance when it was on deep discount maybe a year ago but I don't really regret for not having it. If the older version of Essence blush brush are still available, I would totally recommend those.

  4. I love RT brushes but I wish this brush had a wee bit smaller head and or came in an angled version.

    1. Oh, I am sure they will come up with that kind of variant (given they have so many new releases right now).
