Milani Welcome Back Color, Black Magic Nail Colors

In case you can't tell, I am in a nail polish kick right at this moment (now I paint my toenails all the time!) and while MAC , Barielle, Zoya and China Glaze are all coming up with some super cool collections...I am still waiting for something better. (Wet n Wild craze was really darn good but I want more than that...) I mean, something cheap because I am not obsessed enough to think that a 8 buck nail polish is reasonable.

Apparently Milani heard my wishes. Look at this Welcome Back Color Collection! (I personally think bright blue isn't that flattering on her yellow skin...)

Welcome back color is a range of bright (but not quite neon) colored nail color, in case you can't tell from this picture, for each shades there is a glittery one and a corresponding one in cream. Do you know how hard is it to find a drugstore cream nail color that doesn't look grandma? Even Wet n Wild don't even release cream finish polish that often.

I admitted, my first thoughts about this collection was "Wow" (Drugstore cream nail polishes are so hard to find.) But my second thoughts was "ewww". These colors are a bit on the gaudy side, it might look better if the model is wearing the yellow or green one (IMO).

Well, let's not make the judgment too hastily because they might turn out to look super cool, even the glittery ones. Last year when the gray trend just came out I though gray nail polish was disgusting but it actually turned out alright. (But I do think cool colored nail polish look better on people with cool skin tones.)

Beside the Welcome Back Color Collection, Milani also has another line of limited edition Nail Polish for Halloween called Black Magic. It features several glittery polishes in black base.

I am not a big fan of black because they tend to make my tiny nail beds look even smaller. For people who like it dark and glittery, this might be a great choice for you.

Runway Eyes Eyeshadow Palette and the baked eyeshadow quad ( Inspired MAC Colour Craft?) Is it just me or the model's ears are huge?

There is also a new line of lipsticks called Styli-Sticks, I like my lipstick tubes to be very pretty like those Anna Sui, Stila and Lancome ones so I am not interested at all.

I just grabbed the purple one, it's quite gorgeous (looks like OPI a grape fit from Bright Pairs collection)...Now I have my eyes on the green and yellow ones, I hope there is a discount because those are almost five bucks a piece now. Bummer!

  2. I've never looked at drugstore nail polishes too much. They do look quite appealing though. I normally get my OPI on sale :)

The normal line of drugstore polish are all quite boring/gaudy/has shitty formula but I think the limited edition from Milani/Wet n Wild are pretty darn good.

Around here only the ugly shades of OPI go on sale so I am better off buying something cheaper.

I haven't gotten any of the quad becuase, for one thing, they don't even look "baked", just like normal pressed shadow split into 4 colors.

Another thing is those stupid CVS sticker, kudo to the chemist who developed that, they are impossible to remove on smooth glass/plastic surfaces.
