Wet n Wild Mega Eye Shadow Single in Goddess

Anyway, while many drugstore goodies were out this spring, I wasn't attracted to all of them...When I stopped by the shelf for one of my favorite brands, Wet n Wild . This shadow popped out right away from the rest of her ugly siblings. (No offense, Wet n Wild's packaging isn't that pretty.)

This Wet n Wild shadow pot is called Mega Eye Shadow in Goddess.

Beside the mid-tone and mid intensity color. I was also fond of the fine gold flecks peaking out here and there. I always thinks that a combination of gold and lilac is soft, romantic and exquisite at the same time.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the lid is that, this shadow smells funny...In a way, it reminds me of the antiseptic from the hospital...

The shadow is relatively firmly pressed and if you need to grab a good amount of the shadow, you will need something with dense bristle to pick up the powder. The color payoff os pretty decent that what you see on the pan is what you will get with 1 or 2 swipes.

The golden shimmer does show, but actually just a tiny bit. It's more of a very pigmented matte lilac with minimal shimmer poking out here and there.(Please keep in mind that I use sunlight to show the pretty gold flecks, the color intensity is sacrificed since the light is so strong, the shadow is a lot deeper and more matte when you are indoor.)

The texture is not like their creamy Mega Eyes trios, you just get a film of nice color, it's not creamy or that easy to blend, the matte color also looks gray and ashy if I don't use a nice base underneath...and for someone who doesn't know how to wear lilac shadow (beside spreading on the entire lid as an allover sheen) it's not all that user friendly for me. I obviously am not comfortable wearing a matte lilac on my face with this good of color payoff...

Would love this, only if I know how to wear a matte pastels...

  1. I had a hard time with Matte pastels as they tend to look weird and chalky, but I guess a combination with something shimmery will always work :) I love the tiny bit of gold shimmer on this :)

  2. I like pastels :D...But I just don't like purple, even though it's supposed to enhance brown eyes :(. I don't mean I hate the way it looks on me - I mean I've never used it 'cause I dislike the colour purple ;).
Still, this is lilac, so maybe it would work for me :-/...

  3. Hi Nikki:

I actually tried to layer it with a shimmery ones, and it does work well that way...

    Cris:
I am exactly opposite to you, I love purple /eggplant or any bold color but I dislike wearing soft color (clothes, since I don't wear colorful makeup out that much)such as pink (ewwww), baby blue, soft green and lilac...

I actually do think that purple do enhance brown eyes, at least it makes my face look less boring...
