March Magazine Menagerie

Don't freak out (yet), it's still February! It's just that most of the magazines are March 2013 issues.
Spotted at CVS - Premiere issue of Nail It magazine. I just really like her peachy-pink makeup...The content is OK (nothing exciting compared to those more established nail art blog or the nail session of Japanese magazine...)
Cosmopolitan (aka. Encyclopedia of Shitty Sex Advices) covered graced by a  Bieber
Oh, it's Hannah Montana...Glamour cover is graced by Dakota Fanning (I like her sister's face better) with a cute sweater...
Now some flips (done inside a library) - Vogue had an interesting article by Marina Rust about the come back of Beehive Hair...Which I welcome with open arms. If they like a giant round bun ( don't mind odango that much when they are slightly messy and airy/done in the Asian way, but the American take is just so huge, round and uniform) why not this? At least a lot of opera divas rocked this look back in the 50-60s.
The illustration, however, was a little unfortunate. My first impression was that "Why is there a giant poop on her head?"  The model's sullen expression (we feel your pain) and the flies bees around it didn't help much either...
A random delicate green bag from Mulberry (the thing is about garden inspired, I think) Not a color I wear (or something that I can afford) the color gives me a cantaloupe candy smell...

Random shot at Allure (this is about a style influencers) - A stylist Christiaan's hair styling job. I like the mess hair but her eye shadow look really pretty!
"Hey look, it's Zarkharova!" - Time Magazine did an article about the recent acid attack on Bolshoi Ballet's chief Filin. (Most of the time I only read the article by Joe Stein at the end but this one wasn't particularly funny...)
From Glamour - Is it OK for a Grown Woman to Love a Boy Band?  After giving the picture a good look...Urgh, these guys are supposed to be good-looking? I get the thing with Robert Pattison and half-dressed Taylor Launtner but...The only thing in my mind when I saw these people was "How many bottles of hairspray does the middle on go through on a monthly basis?"

Generation gap is a good thing indeed...

Maybelline Color Goes Electric Spring 2013 Fashion Week Collection

Another nail display spotted at Walgreens - Maybelline Color Goes Wild  Nail Color collection - Just in time (or late = =)  for the 2013 New York fashion week.
The colors are all bright and happy, some a cream and some satiny. Didn't get a chance to capture the name because the neon tend to make my camera go blurry.

Toppings - Wet n Wild Coloricon Limited Edition Nail Color

Spotted at Walgreens - 6 limited edition shades of Wet n Wild Coloricon Nail Colors (the model is so pretty!)
They are all some variation of gray (multiply it by ten and you will get...)and I think I like the one that flashes teal and lilac the best.

Carmex Moisture Plus Tinted Lip Balm in Peach, Pink and Clear

I went back for more of these Carmex Moisture Plus Tinted Lip Balm as I was really happy with my initial purchase and in terms of texture, smell and wear. The three new shades are totally consistent with what I got: Soft, buttery, moisturizing and never sticky, the scent (combo of cake batter and a bit Carmex) is also strangely comforting.
Peach Tint (sorry for the lint) is a warm coral. Pink Tint is a cool, almost Barbie pink and clear just leaves some moisture and a bit of sheen. The lasting power of these are not great (around 1-2 hours) but it's expected for soft, balmy products that actually moisturize. I mean, I have so many products around so it's more convenient to have something that I can actually reapply/use up.
Swatches of the four I own: Clear, Peach, Berry and Pink. The red/most pigmented one I got seem to be discontinued already.

The Pink Tint is a little lighter that my natural lip color so it leave a tad bit of off white cast. The soft pink is a nice look but I personally prefer something brighter.

The Peach Tint just give a warm coral tint on the lip (very flattering by itself but it looks more peachy in this picture). Overall: I love everything about these (ok, they packaging is bland and the label are easily peelable, but who cares when they are so cheap) and they are perfect item to toss into a messy bag.

P.S. Before 2/22/2013 is over. Happy Birthday to my favorite composer ever, Frederic Chopin!

Ecotools Brushes, EOS Lip Balm Set, Nivea Kiss of Volume

Spotted at ULTA - More Ecotools brushes. The retractable foundation brush looks new here.
I like how fluffy the bamboo eyeshadow brush looks
A Breast Cancer Awareness (as if we are not awared...) set by EOS with Berry Blossom hand cream and Strawberry Sorbet
Nivea A Kiss of Volume Lip Care - I kind of want to try it (I don't like plumping products that stings but some just works really well filling the lip lines).

Prestige, Tarte, Aveeno BB Cream and More

So here is a new slew of BB cream out - First there is Prestige Flawless and Ready BB Cream at ULTA
Tarte BB Tinted Treatment Primer (First ever? BB cream is supposed to be a treatment+primer+foundation thing in one, in the first place...) that's 34 dollars per tube
Spotted at CVS, Aveeno Clear Complexion BB Cream (which actually has a slightly different ingredient list  compared to the tinted moisturizer... Good job for not selling old stuff in new bottles!)

New packaging for the Positively Ageless reconditioning night cream
New Vanicream designed for sensitive skin
Covergirl Clean Sensitive Skin powder - I like the green compact

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Growth Serum

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Growth Serum (mentioned by Eva Chen in her tumblr, as one of the cheaper serum with noticeable effect) is a clear serum that works on both lashes and brow. This particular formula is noticeably runnier than the gel-serum from L'Oreal (a little more viscous than the one by Wet n Wild) so it can run into eyes and sting a bit if not used carefully.

The plastic applicator, which has a screw like body and eyeliner-brush tip allows you to use it right on the lash line, on the lashes and on the brow areas. Since the tube is completely clear, you will see the liquid turns muddier and muddier after all the re-dipping you do.
Within a week of trying this, I started to notice some lengthening, but it didn't go on and on (I think there is natural maximum length I can get and once that's reached, the hair just falls off) . My  favorite part is how it stimulates new growth on bald patches (or areas on the lash line further away from the lash line, which was previously hairless). I still use it occasionally (if I find it among the junks I bought) on the lash line and on the bald patches of my brow, even the effect isn't dramatic, it's still noticeable for me to stick with it.
Ingredient List of Rimmel Lash Accelerator Growth Serum. I am recognizing Panthenol, Keratin, Bamboo Extract (Sally Hansen uses it in their nail care so I guess it also has an effect on hair) and Biotin!
A picture of my little guest during the photo-session. I miss my old photo spot...

Physicians Formula New pH Matchmaker Lip Gloss, Airbrushing Blush

So I was at CVS trying to take advantage of the half off sale (apparently, this CVS doesn't participate in it) and saw a new stand alone display for Physicians Formula, as well as some (more!) new products.
The pH Match Maker Lip Gloss now has a peachy version called natural - I really like the glassy/thick texture (it really fills the lip line and soak off dead skin) but even the lighter pink turns crazy magenta after an hour of wear...
Two Mineral Wear Airbrushing Blush in Natural and Pink - I might go for the one in Natural
Mineral wear correcting bronzer
